Brakes Group opens first Brakes Professional Food Market

Brakes Group has opened their first Brakes Professional Food Market this week, a 25,000 sq ft store in Croydon, London that will sell more than 4,000 fresh, grocery, frozen and non-food catering products to professional caterers.

Built with feedback from Brakes' customers who wanted a place to shop that was specifically designed to meet their needs and one that gave them even greater flexibility and convenience. The result is a Food Market completely focused on serving foodservice professionals, which, said Brakes "differentiates us from the traditional cash and carry market, offering a unique shopping experience for the foodservice industry".

The Professional Food Market will have a major focus on the products that are important to professional chefs, including fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables and Brakes' other businesses including M&J Seafood, Wild Harvest, Pauleys and Prime Meats and other branded suppliers. The new store will include a suite of services, including an in-store butcher, fish monger and development chefs in a working kitchen, readily available to provide professional advice, right on our customers' doorstep.

Brakes Professional Food Market will offer prices up to 10% lower than a delivered service and for the first two weeks of opening customers can benefit from £50 off their first shop over £100.
