BFFF launches new modern governance model
The British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) has announced its new, modern structure after members voted in favour of a new model of governance for the trade association.
The new structure will see director general Brian Young (pictured) become the first BFFF chief executive and will enable the association to become more effective in providing the best services to its members.
"As our members have continued to modernise and become more sophisticated in their operations, there was a need for BFFF to do the same in order to meet members' needs in the best possible way. This new governance structure will enable us to do this much more effectively," said Young.
The new articles of association and rules which include the introduction of a newly constituted board of directors were voted in at a recent general meeting and came into force on the 1 June 2014.
The new board of directors is made up of 10 members with six representatives from the association's producer, importer, broker, and wholesaler sectors in addition to the chair of the Audit Committee, the chair of the Technical and Legislative Expert Group, a retailer representative and the new chief executive.
