Bar Foods and Dunkleys to merge to create Billington Foodservice

The Billington Group's two foodservice businesses, Bar Foods and Dunkleys, are to merge to create Billington Foodservice.

From 1 September 2018 the groups will come together to "remain competitive within the industry and to provide continued commercial clarity to customers."

Billington Foodservice will have two sites, The Billington Bakery and The Billington Kitchen, located in Wellingborough and Newport, where it will continue to provide soups, sauces, pies, meals and desserts to customers.

The business will be led by Paul Richards as managing director, Helen Blyth as sales director, David Wilkinson as business development director and Aisling Kemp as group commercial development director.

Gary Blake, Group CEO [pictured] said he was "looking forward to bringing together one unified force" across two businesses to "deliver bespoke and innovative solutions for customers".

The Billington Group entered the UK Foodservice sector in 2012, initially with the acquisition of BAR Foods and more recently in 2016 with Dunkleys.

He added: "As we continue to grow organically, the natural next step in our journey is one unified customer focused approach across multi sites, which will provide clarity, consistency and one voice to our employees, industry peers and customers."
