The Acorn Scholarship, is an independent award created by previous winners of The Caterer’s Acorn Awards.
It’s now in its 14th year, and anunually presents a young manager, chef, HR manager, sommelier, or any young high-achiever involved in hospitality with the opportunity to make a name for themselves by presenting their skills and ambitions to some of the most respected names in the industry.
There is an annual prize worth more than £5,000 and the winner will become part of a prestigious Acorn Scholarship alumni.
The closing date for this year is 24 October 2016.

HOTELIER OF THE YEAR

The Hotelier of the Year award celebrates the UK’s most exceptional hotelkeepers. Winning Hotelier of the Year represents the pinnacle of a career in hotelkeeping.
Now in its 33rd year, the award is given to an individual displaying the management, leadership and communications skills required to manage a hotel at the highest levels of excellence, along with a commitment to employees and the industry at large.
Successful hoteliers are a rare breed. Not only are they multi-talented, but they also take on each and every task with enthusiasm and inspirational zeal, no matter how taxing the challenge. That’s why previous winners of the Hotelier of the Year award are elite operators, able to turn their hand to any aspect of a hotel’s smooth operation. They are men and women at the pinnacle of their profession, capable of managing the smooth and successful running of a hotel with a smile for guests and support for staff.

The Hotel Cateys are now in their ninth year, and each year’s awards have been bigger and better than the last.
Since their launch in 2007, the Hotel Cateys have celebrated the most successful hotels, hoteliers and hotel employees across the UK. They were created to recognise and reward those individuals and teams that work tirelessly to make sure their business delivers an exceptional guest experience day in, day out.
Guests visit a hotel for any number of reasons. But they return thanks to a wonderful welcome, a brilliant breakfast and a great night’s sleep. It falls to hotel professionals to meet customers’ needs and keep them, coming back time after time.
PRODUCT EXCELLENCE AWARDS

The Caterer Product Excellence Awards recognise excellence and innovation in food, drink and equipment products within the hospitality sector.
Customer expectations are high and competition is fierce – and foodservice operators need a point of difference to their offering.
Sourcing the right product is paramount and The Caterer Product Excellence Awards shine a light and award a stamp of approval from expert judges on products that deliver that little bit extra in terms of taste, appearance, usability and design.

RESTAURANT MANAGER OF THE YEAR

The competition has been run by the Academy of Food & Wine Service for seven years and aims to acknowledge and reward the best in the industry – whether small individual boutique establishments, popular fine-dining sites or those part of a larger food and beverage operation.
Anyone who fulfils the role of a restaurant manager is welcome to enter. Your job title doesn’t have to be “restaurant manager” but you should be undertaking the typical work and activities associated with the role: responsibility for the business performance and co-ordinating the entire operation of the restaurant.
