The family behind the Michelin-starred Timberyard in Edinburgh has opened new restaurant and wine bar Montrose.
Timberyard was opened by the Radford family in 2012 and won its first Michelin star at last year’s awards.
Montrose is situated in the Abbeyhill area of Edinburgh and will showcase seasonal and locally-sourced produce, such as wild game, rare-breed cattle and foraged ingredients.
It resides in one of Edinburgh’s first public houses, which dates back to the 1800s. It is spread across two floors with a 40-cover, ground-floor wine bar and a first-floor dining room with seven tables.
The new restaurant will be supported by head chefs James Murray and Moray Lamb, manager Adam Bennett and drinks and bar manager Murray McDougal.
Guests will have the option of a four-course set menu or a selection of classic European dishes alongside a range of capsule-free (bottles without a foil casing) and organic wines.
Jo Radford said: “With a first Michelin star under our belts at Timberyard and the launch of our new restaurant and wine bar at Montrose, 2024 looks set to be a really exciting year for our entire team.
“Over the last 10 years, Timberyard has always aimed to be at the forefront of both Scottish and British dining. We are committed to evolving this lasting dining legacy at Montrose with the continued support of our talented chefs and wider team.”
Lamb added: “At Montrose, the ethos is simple. Source great, seasonal produce, cook it well and season it perfectly. Refined cooking, with clean plates of food, but still a bit fun and nothing too challenging for the guests.”
