Los Angeles brand Sparrow Italia to open first UK restaurant

North American restaurant concept Sparrow Italia is to open its first branch in London's Mayfair as Sparrow Mayfair this autumn.

Tosh Berman and Mikey Tanha from lifestyle hospitality company Noble 33 have partnered with Khaled Dandachi to bring the Los Angeles-born Italian restaurant brand to London.

Sparrow Italia will offer a mix of traditional Italian and Mediterranean dishes based on seafood; house-made pasta; and wood-fired pizza. The menu offering will be curated by AJ McCloud, corporate executive chef at Noble 33.

The three-floor restaurant will cater for 189 guests, with a ground floor lounge and bar, a first floor terrace dining room, a second floor parlour dining room and a third floor cigar lounge.

When asked about plans to bring any other brands to the UK, Mikey Tanha, co-founder and chief executive officer at Noble 33, said: "Noble 33 is currently focused on making Sparrow Mayfair a success. With that said, we love the UK market and would love to bring our other brands there when the time is right."

He added: "We are excited to bring the Sparrow Italia concept to London. Following the successful launch in Los Angeles, we are confident that it will add something different to London's vibrant dining scene.

"This concept has been designed based on Tosh and my travels across Italy, combining the very best elements from our experiences."

Noble 33 also manages modern Mexican steakhouses Toca Madera and Casa Madera, which operate in the US and Canada.
