Hotel group Selina to open second UK property in Birmingham next month

Latin-American hotel group Selina is set to open its second UK property in Birmingham next month.

Located in the city's Jewellery Quarter, the Selina Birmingham is designed by Lorna Keller, who oversaw the interiors of the group's UK debut Selina NQ1 in Manchester. Working with local artists, Keller's designs take inspiration from the company's Latin American heritage.

The property features 132 beds across 39 rooms. These include private rooms, suites and community shared rooms for between three and fourteen guests – including a female-only option.

In addition, Selina Birmingham will have a dedicated wellness area, coffee shop, cocktail bar and a Latin-American restaurant and wine bar.

It will also serve as an urban hub for creative and artistic businesses, providing exhibition and social spaces for locals alongside a programme of workshops and pop-ups throughout the year.

Erwin de Jong Oliveira, Selina's head of country UK, said "We're thrilled to bring our concept to one of the most exciting cities in the UK, and in such a thriving neighbourhood.

"We wanted to blend Selina's Latin-American roots with local talent, history and culture and we are excited to open our doors and provide a new hub for the community."
