Yaxham restaurant and bar with rooms is sold

The Yaxham Mill restaurant and freehouse with rooms in the Norfolk village of Yaxham has been sold to East Anglian-based operator Eaglehawk Properties.

Located near Dereham, the restaurant with four AA-starred rooms is within easy reach of the Norfolk Broads, Cromer, Holt, Great Yarmouth and Norwich.

The business was coverted in 1996 from a derelict mill and outhouses that date back to around 1860.

The former miller's house and chapel now serve as the 40-seat restaurant and bar, with two of the 14 letting bedrooms above. The old forge, bakery, wagon store and stables were transformed into more letting rooms, including two cottages used as holiday apartments,

Other facilities include trade gardens, two-bedroom owners' accommodation, and a private garden with a swimming pool.

The Ipswich office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £825,000 on behalf of Peter and Tracey Skipper.
