Will Lander to open Portland in January

Will Lander has teamed up with Daniel Morgenthau to open Portland restaurant at 113 Great Portland Street, London.

Lander, who co-owns Quality Chop House, will open Portland with Morgenthau (previously of 10 Greek Street) on 19 January.

Head chef of the new 45 cover venture will be Merlin Labron-Johnson, who was previously sous chef at Michelin starred In De Wulf in Belgium.

His menu will be devised to be light, with robust flavours. Dishes will include chargrilled scallops, broccoli, miso (£9); pollock, baked onion, brown butter hollandaise (£16); and Fosse Meadow chicken, parsnip, ginger and split-roasting juices (£16).

The wine list will include 45 bins, which will change every month. The restaurant also promises a wide variety of fine wine by the glass.
Shelley Sandzer acted on behalf of Lander and Morgenthau to secure the property.
