Wildwood operator Tasty reports gloomy H1 figures as pre-tax profits turn to loss

Wildwood and Dim T operator Tasty has posted a drop in revenue and a pre-tax loss amid difficult trading conditions.

The 60-site operator reported a 5.7% drop in revenue in its H1 figures to 1 July 2018, falling to £23m.

However, it also managed to make a dent in its operational debt compared to the previous year, falling from £5.4m to £4.1m.

The company has accumulated £16.9m of losses since incorporation.

Chairman Keith Lassman said: "As highlighted previously, the market conditions in 2018 continue to be challenging and have been exacerbated by unfavourable weather conditions and the World Cup."

He added that the company is "beginning to see early signs of improvements, which we expect to continue in the second half of the year".

The company stated it will now focus on "optimising the performance of the estate".
