Wasabi managing director Frederic Lluch steps down
The managing director of grab-and-go sushi offering Wasabi has stepped down from the post after two years.
Frederic Lluch, who joined the firm in 2016 as national operations director, confirmed the move in a LinkedIn post, adding: "I would like to say thank you to all the Team Members in the branches, the Team in CPU & Support Centre, for their passion, commitment and drive, you are a fantastic team.
"Thank you for your support over the years and for what we achieved together. It is a new era for Wasabi which I am sure will be even more successful than the last 15 years."
A spokesperson for the firm confirmed the search for a successor was "in advanced stages and would be announced in due course".
It comes after Capdesia Group acquired a minority stake in the firm, which operates in 55 sites across the UK, to fund an expansion and refurbishment programme.
Announced in May, the injection of cash will enable Wasabi to grow its portfolio in the UK and US, refurbish existing stores and develop other commercial opportunities. It follows on from a £30m investment in the brand from HSBC announced in March 2018.
