Trinity Kitchen opens in Leeds

Trinity Kitchen, a new addition to the Leeds Trinity shopping centre combining high-street restaurants, cafés, bars and street food retailers, opened yesterday.

The 20,000 sq ft indoor food hall, developed by Land Securities will select five new street food vendors from across the UK to join the line-up every month, with the help of food journalist and curator of the British Street Food Awards, Richard Johnson.

The chosen vendors are lifted from the street by hydraulic lift up and into an opening in the wall of the first floor of Trinity Kitchen on a monthly basis.

Designed by interior experts Fusion, Trinity Kitchen is a combination of warehouse and street alley styling, featuring individual zones inspired by urban environments.

Customers can interact with a large format touchscreen within the Trinity Kitchen space, on which they can play food-related games

Permanent restaurant operators opening at Trinity Leeds include: Pho Cafe, Chip + Fish, Chicago Rib Shack, Tortilla and PizzaLuxe.

There is also boutique bar offering, 360 Champagne & Cocktails and Notes Café (who are also bringing live music and jazz performances to Trinity Kitchen).

The first five street food vendors to trade within Trinity Kitchen include: local Leeds based company The Marvellous Tea Dance, London's hot dog trader, Big Apple Hotdogs, traditional Italian three-wheel Piaggio van, Gurmetti, award-winning Indian snack stall Manjit's Kitchen and the winners of this year's British Street Food Awards, Katie & Kim's Kitchen, whose prize included their free, month long pitch at Trinity Kitchen.
