Theo Randall and Rebecca Mascarenhas' restaurant plans scrapped

Bibo restaurant in Putney, a planned tie-up between Rebecca Mascarenhas and Theo Randall is no longer set to go ahead.

The new project had orginally been announced in June this year, with a planned launch for September.

The neighbourhood trattoria was due to open on the site of a restaurant Mascarenhas has owned since 1995, initially operating as Phoenix before relaunching as Cantinetta in 2010.

But a statement issued by the pair this morning said: "Unfortunately, the planned restaurant collaboration between Rebecca Mascarenhas and Theo Randall to open Bibo in Putney will now not proceed. Theo Randall remains chef/patron of Theo Randall at the InterContinental, and Rebecca will consider alternative opportunities for the southwest London restaurant site."
