The Restaurant Group plans 30-35 openings in 2013
The Restaurant Group (TRG), which operates the Frankie and Benny's and Chiquito brands, expects to open another 30-35 restaurants this year.
The company revealed the plans as part of a trading update, which showed an 11% rise in total sales for the first 19 weeks of the year, and a 4.5% increase in like-for-like sales.
TRG said that most of the new openings would be Frankie and Benny's sites, although it also planned four to five openings of its new Coast to Coast restaurants.
It added that margins at the group are improving and that its pipeline of sites for 2014 and beyond was "better than we have seen for a number of years".
TRG operates around 420 restaurants, under the Frankie and Benny's, Chiquito, Coast to Coast, Garfunkel's, and Brunning and Price pubs brands. It also has a concessions business operating in major UK airports.
