TGI Friday's to open in Gloucester Docks Outlet Centre

American restaurant chain TGI Friday's is to open a site in new leisure development complex Gloucester Quays Outlet Centre, it has announced.

The 170-cover, 5,231 sq ft site will form part of the development's £1.5m piazza overlooking the Gloucester Docks area. It will have an open kitchen, and serve the group's usual menu, including ribs, burgers, salads, and tapas-inspired sharing plates, plus a wide selection of cocktails.

The site was chosen thanks to the area's significant increase in footfall over the past six months, which is expected to hit four million customers per year by the end of 2014.

It will join other casual dining brands in the centre including Ed's Easy Diner, Zizzi, Chimichanga, Loungers, Nando's and Pizza Express.

David Carroll, property director of TGI Friday's, said: "We're delighted to be bringing our world-famous American dining concept to Gloucester Quays Outlet Centre. We recognise the strategic importance of Gloucester Quays as a powerhouse destination."

The new site will be the 63rd UK restaurant for the brand, which is currently expanding rapidly across the country. It hopes to open around 120 new UK restaurants by 2020.
