Brothers Matt and Adam Locke's first venture, Spire, is trendy without being intimidating and offers an extensive and accessible selection of food.

  • Food: Matt, previously head chef at the London Carriage Works, clearly knows his stuff. Spire caters to a busy city clientele at lunchtime, with simple but substantial dishes such as corned beef hash or steak sandwich. In the evening the food moves towards fine dining but without being too complex. Try the roasted rib-eye steak of Scottish beef with an oxtail bourguignon and garlic and herb mash.
