Seafood Pub Company continues expansion with second Yorkshire deal
The Seafood Pub Company (SPC) has announced the acquisition of the Fleece, Yorkshire, as part of its expansion drive.
The property, in Addingham village, West Yorkshire, is expected to open early May and will create 25 local jobs following a £1.2m development programme.
Spread across 5,000 sq ft, the Fleece has around 250 covers across its main restaurant, private dining, function room and outside terrace.
Damaged by a major fire in 2015, the Grade II-listed property will be fully renovated, maintaining its original exterior whilst taking on the SPC signature interior design features.
Leased from Punch Taverns, it will be the first SPC venue to open in Yorkshire, closely followed by the Red Lion pub in Harrogate, which was acquired in February and is expected to open in the summer.
SPC is backed by Penta Capital and has 12 sites across the Lancashire and Yorkshire area. The company was founded by Joycelyn Neve in 2011 and has won numerous awards, including the Cateys Pub and Bar Award.
Antony Shirley (pictured, left), executive chef, SPC, said: "We've got a fantastic brigade of chefs who will work with the locals to create menus which include all of their favourites, and of course our signature seafood specials."
Joycelyn Neve (pictured, right), managing director, SPC, added: "We are incredibly pleased to announce our second acquisition of 2017. We are proud to be able to add another fantastic venue to our SPC family."
