Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, who has been dubbed ‘Salt Bae' by the internet, is reportedly planning to open a London restaurant.

Gökçe was thrown into the limelight after posting a video of himself slicing and seasoning a steak went viral in the first week of January 2017.

In 2010, with business partner Mithat Erdem, he opened a steakhouse in Etiler, Istanbul, called Nusr-Et. The brand now operates Nusr-Et steakhouses in Ankara, Yalıkavak, Muğla, and Dubai. Nusr-Et Burger sites are found in Bebek and Nişantaşı.

In a recent interview with Turkish daily newspaper Hurriyet, he revealed plans to open two new sites in London and New York.

The restaurant serves dishes such as dana carpaccio; steak tartar; asado beef ribs; beef chops; meatballs; Turkish sausages; fish and a selecton of burgers and steaks.

According to the Independent Gökçe can't speak much English but that he "could communicate with people through meat".

An opening site and date has not yet been confirmed.
