Sager + Wilde duo to open second London site

The duo behind Sager + Wilde are to launch a site on London's Old Street with a combination of a grab-and-go and an all-day-dining offer.

Michael Sager and Marcis Dzelzainis will open Fare Bar + Canteen, located in the Morelands building on Old Street, this month.

It will be split across two floors with an industrial aesthetic. The ground floor will feature a bar and canteen, offering cocktails on tap including the nitro vodka expresso, which pours like Guinness.

A bar and dining area will be downstairs, featuring a 250-strong Sager + Wilde wine served with dishes created by previous Ellory head chef Thomas Raymond.

The menu will include vegetable-based small plates, grilled skewers and larger sharing dishes, many of which will be prepared on the grill in the centre of the restaurant.

Small plates will include Cylindra Beetroot (roasted in embers, grapefruit reduction and Devon Blue), and Fare's wet burger (Red Devon beef patty, sweet paprika and sour cucumber), while larger plates will include barbecue chicken skewers and a slow-roasted Suffolk lamb shoulder with black cumin, aubergine and pickled garlic.
