Restaurateurs Agnar Sverrisson and Xavier Rousset to open third restaurant

Restaurateurs Agnar Sverrisson and Xavier Rousset are to open their third 28-50 Wine Workshop & Kitchen in Mayfair later this year.

The former Catey winners, who also own the Michelin-starred Texture restaurant, have secured a site on Maddox Street, just near Pollen Street Social and Hibiscus.

The 90-seat new restaurant, which will open in September, will be spread over two floors and include a bar and dining room. Although the design is yet to be confirmed, 28-50 Maddox Street will emulate its sibling restaurants with a relaxed, wine-focused offering and all-day menu.

"Having run 28-50 Marylebone for nearly a year now, we're delighted to see that the West End has taken to the concept so we're looking forward to the next opening in September."

Sverrisson and Rousset opened Texture in 2007 and gained a Michelin star in 2011, the same year the pair won the Newcomer Catey award. The branched out and launched the first 28-50 wine bar and restaurant on Fetter Lane in June 2010, which was followed by a site in Marylebone in June 2012. The pair met at Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir aux Quat'Saiasons where Sverrison worked as head chef and Rousset was head sommelier.
