Restaurant and bar 3 Cromwell Road to open in South Kensington
The team behind Chelsea nightclub Dukebox is set to open 3 Cromwell Road, a new bar, restaurant and club in South Kensington.
Co-owned by Howard Spooner and Dipak Panchal, 3 Cromwell Road is located in a three-storey Georgian townhouse overlooking the Natural History Museum and is expected to open its doors next month.
The 300-capacity venue comprises a first floor restaurant called the Drawing Room; ground floor cocktail bar, the Back Room; and downstairs club, the Basement.
The interiors are made up of Patrician design details from 19th and 20th Century London townhouses, such as working fireplaces, and contemporary pop culture features including neons and Kalashnikov rifles papered into the walls, with furniture by Andrew Martin.
The address has opened under a number of different guises, most recently as the Firehouse in 2002. Prior incarnations include the Hudson Club, Bratts, and the Cromwellian, which was the first London venue in which Jimi Hendrix played.
