Rentokil launches pop-up restaurant serving exotic insects

Only the most daring diners will want to eat at a new pop-up restaurant featuring edible insects in the guise of delicacies such as oven-roasted weaver ants, BBQ zebra tarantulas and chocolate-dipped worms.

Described by Rentokil as the world's first pop-up "Pestaurant", the eaterie will be open for one-day only on Thursday at One New Change in the City of London, to mark the 85th anniversary of the pest control business.

All food will be free and will include salted mixed worms, BBQ mole crickets and giant black scorpions. Sweet chilli pigeon burgers will also be served.

David Cross, dead of technical training academy at Rentokil, said: "The Pestaurant is here to raise awareness of common pest issues and demonstrates our commitment to keeping up the heat on Britain's pests."
