Raymond Blanc's Brasserie Bar Co raises £13.5m for expansion

Brasserie Bar Co, the restaurant and pub company fronted by Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc, could grow its White Brasserie chain to 15-20 sites within three years after securing £13.5m in new funding.

The company, which operates 19 Brasserie Blanc restaurants, raised the debt from ESO Capital to grow from its existing two White Brasserie pubs, according to the Sunday Times.

The fundraising follows the purchase two years ago of the last Chez Gerard steakhouses, which have been converted into Brasserie Blanc restaurants.

Brasserie Bar Co is run by chief executive Mark Derry, alongside Ian Glyn who is a founding shareholder and director of the business. Glyn co-founded Luminar Leisure in 1988 and also developed Loch Fyne Restaurants with Derry, which was sold to Greene King in 2007. Separately he founded the Bel and the Dragon pub venture, which he sold in 2005.
