Police arrest Cornish extremist targetting Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver
Police have made an arrest in the case of the Cornish extremist that had threatened Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver.
Devon and Cornwall police have detained and now bailed a 36-year old man from Padstow in connection with threats to destroy or damage property associated with the two chefs in Cornwall.
The threats had reportedly been made using e-mail by the ‘Cornish Liberation Army', which was angered by what it saw as "outsiders" that had moved into the area and in doing so pushed house prices up at the expense of local people.
Stein has a hotel and several restaurants, including a fish and chip shop, in Padstow, where he first set up business in 1974.
Oliver recently set up a branch of his charitable restaurant Fifteen at Watergate Bay to train disadvantaged youngsters from the region.
