Petersham Nurseries to open Covent Garden site

Petersham Nurseries owners the Boglione family are to open a site in London's Covent Garden.

The 16,000 sq ft site will feature two restaurants, a lifestyle home and garden shop and a delicatessen with a wine cellar and florist.

Lara Boglione, eldest daughter of Francesco and Gael Boglione who founded the original Petersham Nurseries, will be managing director of the operation.

The kitchens will be headed by executive chef Simon Whitley, who joined the project in January from London's Devonshire Club. He will continue the Petersham philosophy of slow and seasonal food, with a focus on quality ingredients and Italian flavours.

It will be designed by architects Michaelis Boyd to create a design fitting of Petersham Nurseries and the Boglione family's Italian heritage.
