Pergola to launch al fresco dining venue at Paddington

Patty & Bun, Mamalan, Decatur, DF/Mexico and Raw Press have signed up to the first residencies at Pergola's new al fresco dining venue at Paddington Central in London.

Real estate company British Land acquired part of the mixed-use office campus adjacent to Paddington station for £470m in 2013. This week it announced events group Pergola would be launching its latest food and beverage concept at the site.

Pergola has signed a two-year lease at the new 850-capacity venue, set over two floors on the site of 5 Kingdom Street. It will host four residencies with five London restaurants and bars, with the first launching in May.

The venue will be weather-proofed for all conditions, with planting and hanging foliage creating an ‘urban paradise' in the centre of London.

Tim Haddon, asset manager at British Land, said: "We are always looking for new and exciting ways to enliven our spaces and introduce forward thinking and unique occupiers."

Alice Keown, F&B asset manager at British Land, added: "We are excited to welcome Pergola, one of London's most exciting food and beverage concepts, to Paddington Central, which will offer the perfect setting for those looking to enjoy their summer evenings outdoors in a unique location."
