New San Carlo Group Aldo Zilli-inspired restaurant to open in Selfridges Manchester

A new Italian and Southern-French style restaurant and bar is set to open in Selfridges, Manchester, at the end of October.

With views over Exchange Square, San Carlo Bottega, from the San Carlo Group, will have space for 100 diners and serve a menu of cicchetti (Italian small plates), while the "feature" bar will offer a selection of cocktails, champagnes, wines and proseccos.

Developed in conjunction with Italian chef Aldo Zilli, the all-day small plates will include classic elements of seafood, pasta, pizza, meat and salad dishes inspired by Italy and the South of France.

This will be the third San Carlo Group restaurant for Manchester, whose portfolio already includes the San Carlo and San Carlo Cicchetti on King Street West. The group is also planning to open a patisserie and ice-cream café, called Farmacia del Dolce, also in the city's Selfridges. This will serve ice-cream, coffee, fresh cakes, pastries and brunch.

Commenting on the imminent opening, managing director of San Carlo Group Marcello Distefano said: "We're understandably excited to be delivering exclusive new concepts for Selfridges. Cicchetti has been such a success story since launching in Manchester three years ago this November; we see San Carlo bottega as a natural progression."

The San Carlo Group operates 11 restaurants throughout the UK, including in Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol.
