New owner sought for food-led freehouse in Dorset

Drusilla's Inn, a thatched freehouse and restaurant in the Dorset countryside, has been put up for sale.

Food represents 70% of sales for the business, which enjoys seasonal trade from walkers and attracts diners from the nearby towns of Wimborne Minster, Verwood and Ringwood. There is scope to develop the business further by adding letting accommodation, subject to planning permission.

The stone property retains a number of period features such as exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and a thatched roof that takes a highly-distinctive conical shape atop the Tower Room restaurant.

Several trading zones - which include two dining areas, a lounge bar and a contemporary-style public bar - can seat a total of 120 customers.

There is also two-bedroom owners' accommodation, a trade garden, paddocks and outbuildings.

The Winchester office of Christie + Co is seeking offers of £795,000 for the freehold on behalf of Ron and Angela Wright.
