Mother and daughter buy Pharmacy Cafe

A mother and daughter team has purchased the Pharmacy Café and Bistro in Newton Abbot, South Devon.

Lynn Fielding and daughter, Lisa Daniels, both from Newton Abbot, purchased the historic property from Gill Edwards, the owner since November 2003.

The café and bistro occupies the ground and first floors of the Grade ll listed building, based on the town's main shopping street. The building, formerly home to the Biddings Pharmacy, which served Newton Abbot for more than 100 years, retains many original features, including an Italian mosaic floor, two bow windows and several mahogany fittings.

The café and bistro provides seating for 65 diners over the two floors, while the third floor is sublet as two residential apartments.

The property sold from an asking price of £95,000 for the leasehold interest. The agent was Christie and Co.
