Mövenpick ‘dessert boutique' to launch in the UK
Swiss ice-cream brand Mövenpick is to open its first ‘dessert boutique' in the UK later this month.
The 1,333 sq ft store will open in Europe's largest shopping centre, Intu Metrocentre in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, and will be the final offering in the new Qube development, alongside brands such as Five Guys, Wagamama and Nando's.
The dessert boutique will offer a modern setting for dine-in customers, as well as a grab-and-go counter, an affogato Nespresso coffee menu, dessert dishes and the widest range of Mövenpick ice-cream flavours in the UK.
The site will be operated by Retailmark Group, working in joint venture with Mövenpick, and in addition to collaborating with mixologists to create a range of desserts for the launch, themed seasonal menus will employ fruit, freshly baked cones and coulis.
The launch is expected to kick off an opening programme across the UK. The boutiques will open in premium shopping destinations to complement existing food and beverage operations.
The luxury ice-cream brand, managed by Froneri, a joint venture between Nestlé and R&R Ice Cream, will be supporting the boutiques with a campaign aimed at raising awareness among consumers in the North East.
