Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill set for new Crowne Plaza Plymouth
Marco Pierre White (MPW) is to open a Steakhouse Bar & Grill at the Holiday Inn Plymouth, next month.
The 160-seat restaurant will be located on the 11th floor of the 211-bedroom property, which to be rebranded as a Crowne Plaza hotel in April. It will open following an agreement between Black & White Hospitality (BWH), which owns the franchise rights to five of White's restaurant brands, and the hotel's management company, Valor Hospitality Europe, which already operates two MPW steakhouses in Chester and Liverpool.
The Steakhouse Bar & Grill serves steaks, classic English and French dishes such as Welsh rarebit, chicken Kiev and baked Camembert.
White described his restaurants as being the opposite of stuffy and pretentious. "Instead they are about enjoying your evening, with excellent food and drink in luxurious, relaxed surroundings and quite simply having a good time. I call it affordable glamour and we hope it's an experience our guests will want to return to again and again."
Brian McCarthy, managing director of Valor Hospitality Europe, added: "Marco Pierre White is such a huge personality, not just culinary circles, but internationally. Our new Crowne Plaza hotel will be the perfect venue for his steakhouse, with its stunning sea views over the Hoe to Cornwall from our skyline location. It will be a must-visit destination to eat, drink and stay."
As well as the Steakhouse Bar & Grill, the other four MPW brands operated by BWH include Wheeler's of St. James's, Mr. White's English Chophouse, Marco's New York Italian and Bardolino Espresso & Bellini Bar. BWH currently has 32 restaurants in the UK and Northern Ireland, with a further seven in development.
The Holiday Inn Plymouth is one of 19 hotels owned by MCAP Global Finance, the UK subsidiary of New York-based investment company Marathon Asset Management, and operated by Valor Hospitality Europe.
