London's L Restaurant and Bar names new head chef

Luis Vallina has been promoted from senior sous chef to become the new head chef at Kensington's L Restaurant and Bar.

Vallina, who has worked at the Abbingdon Road eatery for the past six months, will introduce a new menu featuring a selection of modern tapas alongside a new range of starters.

The menu includes pan-fried morcilla with apple and sage, braised oxtail with chorizo and potato puree and roast belly of pork with fennel and quince compote.

Spanish-born Vallina came to London in 1999. He has previously worked at Vong in the Berkeley hotel, Putney Bridge and L'Agricultura in Orleans in France.

L Restaurant and Bar was launched by Eddy Lim at the start of 2006.
