Local licensees take on St Albans bar and restaurant

The 62 Bar and Restaurant in the cathedral town of St Albans in Hertfordshire has been sold to local operators Jon and Paul Littlewood.

They currently run a number of food- and bar-led businesses in the Northern Home Counties.

The contemporary-styled bar and restaurant occupies a two-storey detached building in a conservation area in the city centre and is known for its gourmet food, bohemian atmosphere and cocktail menu.

It provides around 260 seats across the main bar, reception bar and lounge bar and another 95 seats for dining, including a 20- seat formal dining area, a 20-seat conservatory, and 60-seat enclosed patio garden.

The first floor is used as a three-bedroom owners' flat.

The Milton Keynes office of Christie + Co sold the leasehold, which runs to April 2016, off a guide price of £195,000 within four weeks of marketing the site.
