Local hoteliers snap up Sidmouth restaurant

Local hoteliers have bought Brown's restaurant in the coastal resort of Sidmouth in East Devon.

The Regency town overlooks Lyme Bay on the Jurassic Coast.

The new owners of the restaurant in Fore Street are Bruce and Clare Robson and Jo and Paul Dodds. Bruce and Jo are siblings and their parents own the historic Woodlands hotel nearby.

The business, which occupies a three-storey terraced property in the main shopping street, comprises a 45-seat restaurant on the ground floor and a 26-seat tapas bar on first floor that is popular for business receptions, parties and function.

It also provides two-bedroom owners' accommodation on the second floor, and an attic room.

The Exeter office of Christie + Co sold the leasehold off a guide price of £195,000.
