Local chef buys Exeter's Cat in the Hat

Local chef Phil Picton is the new owner of the Cat in the Hat restaurant in Exeter, Devon, where he plans to introduce a loyalty card scheme for regular customers.

A former Post Office that was converted into a restaurant by former owners Shane and Louise Bowers in 2002, the Cat in the High is located in the upmarket district of St Leonards in a fashionable retail area near the city centre.

Stonesmith of Exeter sold the new, 15-year lease on the restaurant off an asking price of £70,000.
