Levy Restaurants launches Lavazza Lounge at Somerset House
Compass Group's Levy Restaurants brand is working with up and coming faces of interior and furniture design with a residency at its pop-up, Lavazza Lounge, at Somerset House.
The 22-seat temporary space was opened last Friday (16 November) in the recently renovated West Wing, with views over Somerset House's ice rink.
It forms part of a new Christmas Arcade and has been conceived by emerging designer Helen Hughes.
The Lavazza Lounge installation, executed by Benchmark Designs, focuses on the social aspect of café culture by encouraging interaction through the use of reflection, featuring leathers and mirror-clad panels to create an intimate room set.
The pop-up was overseen by Levy Restaurants' head of innovation Roy Westwood, who said: "We wanted to create a space that has a synergy with one of the UK's foremost arts and cultural centres and the recognised home of London Fashion Week.
"Pop-ups are very much on trend at the moment, and it is great to bring the ‘foodie forward' into a venue that is recognised for setting trends."
Trained baristas will serve a day time offer of coffees while the evening will see a focus on cocktails and Champagne.
