Launch of David Muñoz's StreetXo delayed
Three-Michelin-starred chef David Muñoz's planned London restaurant launch, StreetXo, is now not set to open until the end of this year.
Originally, StreetXo was set to open at 15 Old Burlington Street in Mayfair in June this year.
It will be Muñoz's first outside of his home country, where he runs three-Michelin-starred DiverXo, and StreetXo, both in Madrid.
However, the opening has now been pushed back towards the end of this year, although no specific date has been set. A spokesperson for the restaurant blamed construction delays for the postponement of the launch.
Muñoz trained in several London restaurants before returning to Madrid, and the new London venture aims to be a "unique representation of street food", inspired by his travels from London to South East Asia and everywhere in between.
When it does launch, StreetXo will be open for service for 14 hours each day.
The focal point of the restaurant will be a central open kitchen, as well as a large bar with an inventive cocktail selection.
The menu is expected to change often and will feature 12-14 dishes, but there will also be a trolley circulating throughout the room, serving one-off creations.
