Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias plan Portishead restaurant

Brothers Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, owners of the Michelin-starred Casamia restaurant in Bristol, have revealed plans for a new pizza restaurant in Portishead.

The pair, who were crowned Chefs of the Year by the Good Food Guide this week, told the Bristol Post that the 60-seat Pi Shop will open in December.

They said the all-day concept would serve sourdough pizzas will be prepared in an open plan kitchen and wood-fired oven.

Jonray Sanchez-Iglesias said: "We've had the idea for a pizza restaurant for a couple of years and we did look at central Bristol, but we both live in Portishead, we love the town and the restaurant scene there is really coming up.

"Casamia is a fine-dining experience, but we wanted to create a stripped-back, relaxed pizza restaurant for families and a wider audience. We wanted to create the sort of place where we can take our families on our days off.

"We want Pi Shop to complement other restaurants in the town but also complement Casamia."
