Jamie Oliver to open Hong Kong restaurant

Jamie Oliver is to open a branch of his Jamie's Italian in Hong Kong - the chain's second restaurant in Asia.

The move, reported by the South China Morning Post, comes four years after Oliver's last attempt to establish a restaurant in Hong Kong fell through.

The new 200-seat site will be in Causeway Bay and is set to opn in July. It was set up in partnership with local company Big Cat Group.

Last July, a Jamie's Italian opened in Singapore.

The first Jamie's Italian opened in Oxford in the UK in 2008. The company planned a Hong Kong outlet in 2009 as the first venture outside the UK with Hong Kong company Tranic Franchising but it fell though a year later. Jamie's Italian opened its first outlet outside the UK in Dubai's Festival City.
