Italian restaurant Spiaggia to open in Fulham Broadway
Spiaggia, a new Italian restaurant and bar is set to open in London's Fulham Broadway in October.
Taking its name from "beach" in Italian, the venue will open at 461-465 North End Road on the site of what used to be Chaam Thai restaurant. The new venture aims to create a "chilled-out urban beach-themed retreat" in the heart of the capital.
The interiors will feature lime-washed tongue-and-groove and painted timber, punctuated with tongue-in-cheek flourishes like sunloungers and vintage arcade games.
The menu on offer in the ground floor 50-seat restaurant is equally has been created by chef and owner Mish Haddad drawing inspiration from his experiences living and working in Italy. The was there that Haddad discovered piadinas, thin Italian flatbreads with a variety of fillings. Combinations include salami Napoli, mozzarella and San Marzano tomatoes, and Provolone cheese and roasted peppers with borlotti bean and chilli mash.
There are also piattini (Italian tapas) available for sharing including dishes like arancini, salmon carpaccio seared tuna and pollo pops - crunchy chicken nuggets stuffed with cheese.
Also on offer is a selection of salads, pasta dishes and spiedini (skewers from the robata grill).
