Ignite appoints Tina English as managing director of Bumpkin group
Restaurant and bar operator Ignite Group has appointed Tina English as managing director of its Bumpkin group of restaurants.
English will start at the company, which currently operates three Bumpkin restaurants in London - in Notting Hill, Kensington and Westfield Stratford City - in May. She was previously group marketing director of City Centre Restaurants (now the Restaurant Group), commercial director of Paramount Restaurants, and most recently commercial director at dim sum chain Ping Pong.
Commenting on English's appointment, Ignite Group chief executive Matt Hermer said: "Tina brings an enormous wealth of knowledge and relevant experience in the F&B arena and we look forward to helping her expand the Bumpkin sensibility of locally sourced, great British food, in a friendly and informal environment."
Ignite Group, formerly known as Eclipse Bar Ventures, was founded by Hermer and Paul Deeming in 1998. In addition to its Eclipse bar, private members' club Boujis and the Playtime bar, the group also runs the Wyld club at the W Hotel Leicester Square. Ignite's restaurant portfolio included Japanese restaurant Senkai, which went into liquidation earlier this year.
Internationally the company runs an Eclipse bar at the W Hotel Barcelona and will open a Boujis club in Hong Kong in October.
