Five Guys expands in West Midlands at Touchwood

Five Guys, the American burger brand, has opened its second restaurant in the West Midlands at the Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull.

Occupying a 3,100 sq ft space, it joins 21 other bars, cafes and restaurants in the centre including Ask, Chimichanga, Giraffe, Coast-to-Coast, Theobroma, Handmade Burger Company and Wagamama. Five Guys' first outlet in the region opened in April in the Bullring, Birmingham.

It is the 12th site in the UK for Five Guys, a brand that originally launched in Washngton DC in the USA in 1986 and has since gone on to open more than 1,000 locations worldwide.

Neville Mailing, head of property at Five Guys, described Touchwood as the perfect site for Five Guys' latest restaurant.

"We were looking for locations with a strong footfall and catchment within the West Midlands, and Touchwood was a great proposition," he said. "We have a great space in a prime location in a centre that is first choice destination for consumers from throughout the region."

Five Guys is set to open two other sites this year at the Cambridge Leisure Park in Cambridgeshire and Harlow Water Gardens in Essex.
