American-style restaurant chain Ed's Easy Diner is to open a site in the Liverpool ONE shopping centre in March 2014.

The 5,700 square foot branch will cover the ground and first floor initially, with a view to expand in the future. It will join five other new food and drink venues opening next year.

Other brands expected include burger chain Byron, brasserie-style name Browns, a Cocoa Bar and Café from chocolate store Hotel Chocolat, and casual dining site Home.

Andrew Guy, chief executive of Ed's Easy Diner, said: "We are very excited about the opening as Liverpool ONE is one of the most popular destinations in the North West. The space will allow us to grow our offer over different levels and create a complete retro 1950s experience for all our customers."

Miles Dunnett, head of asset management, Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, added: "We pride ourselves on creating a complete retail and leisure destination with a wide choice of restaurants for our guests. Ed's is the latest in a series of brands that have added significantly to Liverpool ONE's regional appeal."

With shops, a cinema, a gym, an apartment block and two hotels, the ONE Liverpool site is continuing to expand, having opened 24 new brands in the past year, including names such as Ted Baker and Tessuti.

Ed's Easy Diner will join existing restaurant sites such as GBK, Jamie's Italian, Las Iguanas, Pizza Hut, Pesto, Pizza Express, and Tavern on the Green, plus a host of other well-known coffee and informal dining venues already open at the centre.

The brand is growing very fast, having opened over 10 new sites in 2013 and aiming to open 10 per year after that. It recently announced new sites for Derby and York.
