Dishoom to open sixth site in Kensington

Dishoom co-founders Shamil and Kavi Thakrar are to open a site in Kensington, London, later this year.

The 200-cover restaurant on Derry Street, occupying a corner of the Barkers building, will be sixth in the group of sites based on the Irani cafes of Mumbai.

Taking inspiration from 1940s Bombay and the meeting of the Art Deco and jazz scenes, the Thakrar's have worked with architects Macaulay Sinclair on the design for the restaurant.

Dishoom executive chef Naved Nasir, including the bacon naan roll for breakfast and an all-day menu of small plates, grills, biryanis, salad plates, rolls and curries.
