Dishoom sets its sights on Manchester
Indian café and restaurant group Dishoom has applied to open a new site in Manchester city centre.
The group has applied for a premises licence to open inside Manchester Hall, the Grade II-listed former Freemasons Hall which relaunched last month as an eating and drinking hub following a revamp. Masons restaurant, Spanish tapas and gin restaurant Pintura and bar brand Fable have so far opened at the venue.
A spokesperson for the group said: "Dishoom is considering various sites for future projects but nothing has been confirmed at this stage."
Dishoom was founded in 2010 by Kavi and Shamil Thakrar and Amar and Adarsh Radia with the opening of their first restaurant in Covent Garden, inspired by the Irani cafés of Bombay. Amar and Adarsh Radia left the business earlier this year.
The group now has six sites, including its first site outside London which opened in Edinburgh last year.
