Costa continues coffee shop roll-out with WHSmith

Costa, the coffee shop chain owned by leisure group Whitbread, is opening outlets in 20 more WHSmith newsagents across the country.

The deal will help Costa, which already has concessions in WHSmith stores in Bournemouth, Edinburgh and Manchester, move closer to its target of 60 new outlets a year.

The group has already opened 20 Costas this year. The new stores include sites in Chester, Cardiff, York, Cambridge, Ipswich, Sheffield, Birmingham, Swansea, Bristol, Manchester, Kingston-upon-Thames and Watford.

A decision on further implementation of the stores will be made in January following a full evaluation of their performance.
