Christie & Co instructed to dispose of 20 Jamie Oliver restaurant sites

Christie & Co has been appointed to dispose of 20 sites that formed part of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, after it fell into administration earlier this week.

The property advisor will market the leasehold sites of 18 Jamie's Italian restaurants, as well as the group's Barbecoa site in One New Change and Fifteen London in Hoxton.

Jamie Harvie-Austin, director of Christie & Co, said: "Christie & Co is delighted to have been appointed by KPMG to assist in the disposal of these restaurants, as this provides a rare opportunity for restaurant operators to acquire extremely well-located premises in city centre locations."

Eight of the sites fall in London, with the remaining 12 across the UK.

The sites are available on a group, sub-group or individual basis, and Christie & Co said expects to receive strong interest over the next week with best bids due by Thursday 30 May 2019.

A total of 25 restaurants were included in the administration with three, all in Gatwick Airport, remaining open in the hope a buyer can be found.

Earlier this week Oliver said: "I am deeply saddened by this outcome and would like to thank all of the staff and our suppliers who have put their hearts and souls into this business for over a decade. I appreciate how difficult this is for everyone affected."

Oliver's international restaurants as well as Fifteen Cornwall, which operates under a franchise agreement, have been unaffected as will the media and licensing arms of his business.

Interest in the sites being marketed by Christie & Co should be directed to Jamie Harvie-Austin via Jamie.Harvie-Austin@christie.com or Simon Chaplin via Simon.Chaplin@christie.com
