Chris Horridge joins 10 in 8 Fine Dining Group

The 10 in 8 Fine Dining Group, which includes Alan Murchison and Will Holland under its umbrella brand, has announced that Chris Horridge has joined the restaurant company .

The former Cliveden and Bath Priory chef, who worked alongside Murchison in the kitchens at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons 12 years ago, left his role as executive head chef at Cliveden in Berkshire in February after just one year in the post. The property's owner, Von Essen, announced at the time that it was to undergo a "culinary team restructure" across its three restaurants.

10 in 8 Fine Dining Group chairman Richard Pursey commented: "We are absolutely delighted to have Chris on board. Chris not only shares our vision and ambitions for the future, he is also one of the leading experts in his field with a real and demonstrable interest in nutrition, health and well being which is something we are passionate about as a group. We believe the fine dining industry has a very real challenge in addressing nutritional balance and as such it is part of our wider 10 in 8 Fine Dining Group strategy and vision to focus on nutritional values, in which Chris will be instrumental."

Horridge, who held a Michelin star at the Bath Priory, said: "Joining the 10 in 8 Fine Dining Group is a fantastic opportunity for me. It's multi-faceted, hugely ambitious and is avant garde enough to allow complete flexibility and, most importantly, stimulates and encourages individuality of its team members. It is this particular aspect that I'm the most excited about. Working alongside and being supported by free-thinking, liked-minded, visionary professionals is going to be refreshing and motivational. The doors have been opened to future joint projects and business opportunities, which from a personal perspective - means exciting times ahead."

Murchison, who runs two separate Michelin-starred restaurants outside London, L'Ortolan in Shinfield, Berkshire, and La Bécasse in Ludlow, Shropshire, and has just re-opened the renowned fine dining restaurant Paris House on Woburn Estate, said: ""I am very excited that Chris is joining us, I know first hand the skills and passion that Chris possesses. His style of food is truly unique, combining health and nutrition into the fine dining scene is going to make a very exciting and dynamic restaurant concept. We hope to work with Chris to open his own restaurant within the next 12 months and we are actively looking for sites."
