Chipotle hires Cushman and Wakefield to advise on expansion plans

US-based Mexican restaurant chain Chipotle has retained Cushman & Wakefield to advise on potential expansion plans in the UK.

Chipotle is a giant of the US restaurant scene, with 1,450 restaurants worldwide. It opened its first site on the Charing Cross Road in London in 2010.

It currently has six restaurants in the capital and is considering additional locations there before expanding outside London.

Thomas Rose, partner and head of Cushman & Wakefield's leisure & restaurant team said: "Chipotle is one of world's leading restaurant brands and is already quickly becoming a firm favourite in London and we look forward to helping them develop their expansion strategy in the UK."

In 2012, Chipotle had a worldwide revenue of US $2.73b (£1.8b) and employed more than 37,000 people.
