Chimichanga to open site in £20m Silverburn Glasgow shopping centre

Chimichanga is to open its second site in Scotland in the £20m leisure extension of Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow.

The Tex-Mex chain joins casual dining operators Carluccio's, TGI Friday's, Cosmo, Zizzi and Pizza Express, who have also taken sites at the retail development. The first restaurants open this autumn.

Alongside the news operators, existing brands Nando's, Pizza Hut and Handmade Burger Kitchen are increasing their size at Silverburn to provide extra covers.

Chimichanga operations manager Peter Morrison said: "Silverburn is the perfect location from which to open its second Chimichanga location in Scotland. It is a well-established destination that has captured the imagination of consumers in the region, and the leisure extension can only add to the centre's success."
